Thanks to the billion dollar success of The Avengers and renewed love affair with The Hulk, the long-simmering TV show produced by Guillermo del Toro might be smashing through your television next year. During today's upfront presentation for ABC, entertainment president Paul Lee said that he would still like to "see some Marvel projects come to television." One of those projects could be the Hulk, which Lee stated, "Hulk is in development. It wasn't going to be ready for this season but we hope it's going to be ready for next season." No word on whether Mark Ruffalo would play the character for the television show, though that seems unlikely. [THR] Idris Elba has confirmed that he will return as Heimdall in Thor 2. He also expressed some thoughts on the... Read More Read Comments
The Cannes Film Festival gets underway today from Southern France. Here are some of the movies we're looking forward to the most... Like Someone in Love (dir. Abbas Kiarostami) Iranian master Abbas Kiarostami was last on the Croisette in 2010 with Certified Copy, a brain-bending heartbreaker that romantically riffed on the director’s pet themes of identity, value, and meta narratives to deliver the most satisfying film experience of this young decade. Like Someone in Love finds Kiarostami relocating to Tokyo for the next phase of his suddenly borderless career, ostensibly telling the story of a student prostitute (to clarify: she’s a student who is also a prostitute, not a trainee prostitute) and her relationship with an elderly client, who is also an academic.... This summer's slate of movies is light on action comedies and that's where Hit & Run looks to make its mark. Granted it opens on the tail end of the summer movie season, but the film boasts Bradley Cooper in the lead role whose majority of films have been box office successes. Added to the mix are Kristen Bell and writer/director Dax Shepard as a quarreling couple. Shepard plays a former getaway driver who jeopardizes his Witness Protection Plan identity in order to help his girlfriend get to Los Angeles. The film opens August 24 opposite a pair of thrillers – Premium Rush and The Apparition. Check out the trailer below and sound off with your thoughts on the film. The 2012 Cannes Film Festival is underway, with journalists from around the globe converging on the south of France for 12 days of international cinema. This year’s fest launched with an Opening Night screening of Wes Anderson’s latest comedy Moonrise Kingdom, which started receiving reviews from an eager press corps the minute the initial press screening broke. Anderson’s Kingdom is littered with recognizable co-stars – from Edward Norton and Bruce Willis to longtime collaborator Bill Murray – but it centers on a tender relationship between a young scout and the girl who steals his heart. What did everyone think? "A blandly inexpressive title is the worst thing about Moonrise... Read More Read Comments

A while back we got our first look at Anthony Hopkins as Alfred Hitchcock in Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock. The film co-stars big names actors including Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel, Toni Collette and others. We have dueling Snow White movies hitting theaters this year, so why not dueling Steve Jobs biopics? Award-winning writer Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network, The West Wing) has confirmed that he will adapt Walter Isaacson's best-selling biography of the late Apple CEO/founder for Sony. This isn't the first time Sorkin has adapted a best-selling book. Last year, he co-wrote the Oscar-nominated Moneyball and the year before that, won the Academy Award for best adapted screenplay for The Social Network. "There is no working writer in Hollywood today who is more capable of capturing such an extraordinary life for the screen than Aaron Sorkin; in his hands, we're confident that the film will be everything that Jobs himself was: captivating, entertaining and... As we've previously mentioned, Prometheus is certainly pumping out promo clips like crazy over the past few weeks. There have already been viral videos featuring Guy Pearce and Michael Fassbender mixed in among the seemingly countless clips that have been released, which isn't a bad thing, since the sci-fi film is easily one of next month's most anticipated movies. This latest clip, though not very entertaining, shows off more of the special effects that we're likely to see in the film. Noomi Rapace is front and center in this one. She plays Dr. Elizabeth Shaw in the film, a young scientist and a member of the expedition to the alien home world aboard the vessel Prometheus. The film doesn't hit theaters for another couple weeks (June 8 to be exact), so... Read More Read Comments
